§ Sir J. CRAIGOwing to the enormous correspondence received daily by this Ministry it would be impossible, except by a heavy increase in staff, formally to acknowledge every communication on the day of receipt. Steps are being taken to see whether it is possible formally to acknowledge letters which cannot be answered within a reasonable time.
