Mr. A. T. DAVIESasked the Minister of Pensions if he is aware of the delay in the issue of the wife's allowance in the case of pensioners, and that hundreds of cases are still awaiting settlement although it is nearly six months since the issue of such allowance was sanctioned; and, if so, what steps will he take to remedy the delay?
§ Sir J. CRAIGIn certain cases, and particularly in those where the marriage certificate has been forwarded, without means of identification, payment of wife's allowance has not yet been made, but the number of these cases is very small, and every effort is being made to dispose of them as rapidly as possible.
