§ Major TRYONThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. I am unable to answer the second part of the question because soldiers are classified in the Ministry records according to their units. Pensions have been awarded to 48 members of the non-combatant corps, and it may be assumed that all these were conscientious objectors, but that corps did not include all the conscientious objectors enlisted into the Army. The hon. Member is no doubt aware that conscientious objectors are only entitled to pensions if they are disabled as a result of their military service.
