§ Major COHENasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is aware that Tournament Hall, Liverpool, which was commandeered by the Admiralty during the War, is still in their possession; whether he is also aware that Messrs. John C. Goold and Company, Liverpool, tenants, have received several applications for the hall; and whether there is any likelihood of Messrs. Goold's several letters to the Admiralty on this subject being answered?
§ Dr. MACNAMARAThe premises in question were commandeered on 27th May, 1916. They have been used as a1818W storage for furniture, stores and fittings belonging to merchant ships on Government service, and there is at present lying in store about 5,000 tons of such gear, the greater part of which has been landed from transport vessels on hire, and will have to be stored until the vessels are returned to their owners. It cannot be stated at present when it will be possible to vacate these premises. Full inquiry has been made, but no trace can be found of any letters having been received at the Admiralty from Messrs. Goold.
