HC Deb 26 November 1919 vol 121 c1821W
MR. S. ROBINSON

asked the Secretary of State for War whether officers and men who were sent out to India early in the Wear, and have been transferred to the Indian Army, will be detained in that service when their comrades in the British Army are sent home; and what steps are being taken for their demobilisation?

Mr. MONTAGU

Officers with temporary commissions in the Indian Service, to whom it is assumed that the hon. Member is referring, should if their service dates back to 1914 be returning in the course of the present month according to the Government of India's present demobilisation programme. In the case of officers serving at outlying stations delay is sometimes unavoidable.
