§ MR. E. KELLYasked the President of the Board of Trade whether the personnel of the profiteering committees for Ireland has been settled; whether it has been 1816W decided to utilise the services of the secretaries of the county councils; and, if so, in what manner?
§ Sir A. GEDDESIn answer to the first part of the hon. Member's question, the personnel of the local committees appointed under the Profiteering Act in Ireland is a matter for the decision of the local authorities who have been invited to appoint the local committees. As regards the second part of the question, while no definite instructions have been issued as to the utilisation of the services of the clerks to county councils in Ireland, it is hoped and anticipated that in some counties the clerk to the county council will be prepared to act as clerk to the appeal tribunal for the county.
