HC Deb 04 November 1919 vol 120 c1339W
Mr. T. THOMSON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the reluctance in many cases of private individuals to take action, he will recommend local profiteering tribunals to appoint inspectors who shall make purchases with a view to subsequent prosecutions where necessary?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

My right hon. Friend does not think it advisable to issue such a recommendation as is suggested, at least until we have had further experience of the working of the Act.
