HC Deb 04 November 1919 vol 120 c1344W
Lieut.-Colonel Sir J. HOPE

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware that executive officers of district agricultural committees are paid at the rate of £500 per annum in England and at the rate of £350 per annum in Scotland; and whether he will take steps to equalise their remuneration?

Mr. MUNRO

The salaries have, as I understand, been fixed in both cases with reference to the special conditions and circumstances, which, according to my information, are not entirely similar in the two countries. Under these circumstances, I regret that I am not in a position to take action as suggested.
