§ Sir JOHN HARMOOD-BANNERasked the Home Secretary why the "American Issue" newspaper, the principal temperance paper of America, has been excluded by the Censor from sale in this country for the last three months; and why the editor, the Rev. D. M. Gardier, has been refused a passport to come to this country and keep us informed of what America has recently done with the liquor trade?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLMy hon. Friend is under a misapprehension. The "American Issue" newspaper has not been stopped by the Censorship during the last throe months, or at any time; and if the Rev. D. M. Gardier has been refused a passport to the United Kingdom, as my hon. Friend states, this action was presumably taken by the United States authorities.
