Lieut.-Colonel W. GUINNESSasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of National Service whether he will state how many officials were employed by the Ministry of National Service at a salary of £100 a year and upwards on 11th November, 1918, and at the present time, respectively?
§ Sir A. GEDDESThe number of officials employed by the Ministry of National Service at the 11th November, 1918, was 15,124 and on the 17th July, 1919, the number wax 228. At the present time all officials and clerks, with the exception of junior clerks, girl messengers, and charwomen are in receipt of emoluments exceeding £100 per annum.
