ROBERTSasked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that owing to traffic congestion, particularly in the North-Eastern district, consignments of infants' food for use at infant welfare centres, clinics, and similar institutions are being delayed; and whether he "will take steps whereby such food consigned for institutional use may be granted the same preference in forwarding and delivery as is afforded to other classes of food and provisions?
§ Sir A. GEDDESI have been asked to reply. I understand that infants' food is already given the same preference as is given to other classes of food and provisions. The hon. Gentleman will, however, understand that owing to the small consignments in which infants' food is usually sent the traffic may have often to be transshipped at certain places so that a longer time may be occupied in its conveyance than in the case of traffic consigned in wagon loads.
