HC Deb 27 February 1919 vol 112 c2001W
Mr. HAYDAY

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that the period for receiving out-of-work donations will, in a large number of cases, expire next week; and, if so, whether it is proposed to extend this period of payment?

Mr. WARDLE

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for Hendon on the 24th February.

Sir KINGSLEY WOOD

asked the Minister of Labour whether an insured person who attained the age of seventy more than fifteen months ago, and thereupon ceased to be employed and to be insured under the National Health Insurance Act, is now entitled to claim the out-of-work donation?

Mr. WARDLE

A person falling within this description would be entitled to out-of-work donation under the scheme subject to his satisfying the governing conditions. He must, among other things, be capable of work and be prepared to accept suitable employment if offered to him.
