§ Sir J. NORTON GRIFFITHSasked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware of the peremptory notice which has been issued to the 14th battalion County of London Volunteer Regiment to return all equipment and clothing and threatening legal proceedings in cases of non-compliance; and if he is aware that such notice has been issued without any notification that this regiment is to be disbanded?
Captain GUESTI am having inquiry made, and will communicate with my hon. and gallant Friend as soon as I am in a position to do so. It is not at present intended to disband the Volunteer Force, and in this connection I would refer to the answers given on Monday last to my hon. and learned Friend the Member for Ealing, as to the War Office intention to keep the Volunteer Force in being until the general policy as regards the future of the force can be determined.
