HC Deb 27 February 1919 vol 112 cc1983-4W
Viscount WOLMER

asked the Secretary of State for War whether soldiers who report sick with influenza are obliged to parade at 7 a.m. outside the medical officer's hut and, having been diagnosed as suffering from influenza with a high temperature, have to return to their quarters, pack up their kit, return it to store, parade again, and march to hospital; and whether, in view of the high death rate among influenza cases in the Army, he will consider the advisability of altering this procedure?

Captain GUEST

I am not aware that such a procedure is followed, but telegraphic instructions have been issued to all military commands in case the practice does exist in any unit.
