§ Mr. TURTONasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can see his way to make any concession in the matter of Stamp Duty in the case of articled clerks to solicitors who during the War and before the expiration of their articles joined any part of His Majesty's Forces, 679W and have subsequently decided to adopt the Navy, Army, or Air Service as a permanent profession?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINYes, Sir. In cases of the kind referred to, the Commissioners of Inland Revenue will, on proof of the facts to their satisfaction, repay the whole of the duty paid on the articles provided application be made before the 31st December, 1920.
