HC Deb 15 December 1919 vol 123 c68W
Mr. ROWLANDS

asked the President of the Board of Education whether, in December, 1915, he closed the school at Forncett St. Mary, Norfolk, without making any arrangements for the children to be conveyed to another school in accordance with the provisions of Section 23 (1) of the Education Act, 1902: whether the children suffer by the bad roads, which are sometimes under water, and the parents are now being fined for keeping them at home; and whether he will compel the county council to reopen the school or to provide conveyance out of the £230 Per annum which they are saving by the closure?

Mr. FISHER

I am making inquiries into the matter, and will communicate with the hon. Member shortly.
