HC Deb 03 April 1919 vol 114 c1422W
Sir M. BARLOW

asked the Secretary of State for War whether Mrs. M. Jones, of 13, Tomlinson's Buildings, off George Street, Salford, drew her allowance of 10s. 2d. on 3 1st December, 1918, in respect of her son, Private J. Jones, No. 451258, Labour Corps (ring paper S. 785,271), and when she went the following week the allowance book had been called up, and the same the next week; the week after that Mrs. Jones was paid only 9s. 2d., this being explained by the deduction of 1s. for 6s. 6d. Mrs. Jones had received each week from the local committee, but Mrs. Jones has never had the £l 0s. 4d. due to her for the two weeks the books was called up; and whether he can have inquiry made and the amount so due paid her?

Mr. FORSTER

Inquiries will be made, and I will inform my hon. Friend of the result.
