HC Deb 14 November 1918 vol 110 c2901W
Mr. BROOKES

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the altered military situation, the War Office will endeavour, to a greater extent than is now the case, to arrange for the transfer of wounded soldiers from distant hospitals to those in their own neighbourhood, thereby diminishing travelling and lessening the cost to their relatives?

Mr. MACPHERSON

Every effort is already made to send soldiers to hospitals near their homes. I am afraid it is not always possible to arrange it, but, in view of the altered situation, I am hopeful that it may be practicable to do more in this direction in the future.
