§ Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK
asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether it is a fact that officers placed on half-pay have themselves to pay the cost of further treatment should such treatment be necessary for their recovery?1811W
§ Mr. FORSTER
I understand my Noble Friend to refer to officers whose disabilities are caused in and by military service. Such officers, if placed on half-pay while in hospital, pay nothing. An officer who, while on half-pay, is re-admitted to hospital on account of wounds or injuries, pays 2s. 6d. a day towards the cost of his maintenance, but pays nothing for treatment. Officers re-admitted from other causes pay 6s. a day.
