§ Captain D. HALLasked the Postmaster-General whether: the authorities propose to close the post office at New church, Isle of Wight, at the beginning of April; and, if so, seeing that this is an isolated place and that already the island towns have had their communication with the main land curtailed to a minimum owing to the doubtless necessary action of the Admiralty in carrying out war measures and precautions, will he reconsider the proposed action?
§ Mr. ILLINGWORTHEvery effort has been made to find a suitable candidate for the vacant appointment of sub-postmaster, but without success. I regret that there is, therefore, no alternative but to close the office for the present.
