MILLARasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office if he can state the quantity of spirits at present held or contracted for by the Navy and Army Canteen Board for the use in the Navy and Army canteens and in officers' and non-commissioned officers' messes, and the price agreed on for the 1,000,000 gallons of whisky recently ordered for these purposes?
§ Mr. MACPHERSONThe amount of whisky in course of being contracted for by the Navy and Army Canteen Board is 600,000 gallons of spirit at its original strength. There are no stocks of whisky held by the Board at the present time. I have nothing further to add to my previous answer to my hon. and learned Friend on the question of the price of the spirit.
