HC Deb 12 November 1917 vol 99 c51W
Mr. T. WILSON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War if he is aware that a number of soldiers are engaged in erecting dormitories, officers' quarters, gunnery school, etc., for the Royal Naval Air Service at Eastchurch; that this is considered by the civilian workmen and by the soldiers themselves as conscription of labour; that this system is causing discontent; and whether he will take steps to discontinue the employment of soldiers on this class of work?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I am not acquainted with the matters to which my hon. Friend refers, but I am making inquiries, and will let him know the result.
