§ Mr. GINNELLasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether the Government have yet settled a scheme for cow pastures for the supply of milk to the poor in towns and villages in Ireland; and whether he will give a preliminary outline of the scheme to help useful discussion?
§ Mr. DUKEThe Local Government Board has had one or two applications for facilities such as are mentioned in the question. I have received representations from several hon. Members as to the utility of the provision of cow pastures and am in communication with various Departments in Ireland upon the subject. As at present advised, I doubt whether what is sought could be obtained without legislation.
