HC Deb 15 February 1917 vol 90 c825W
Mr. BYRNE

asked the hon. Member for Wilton, as representing the Food Controller, if he will make the hoarding up of foodstuffs a punishable offence; if he is aware that persons of the well-to-do class are, by storing up goods, raising unnecessarily the price on the working classes; and what steps he intends to take to remedy this evil?

Captain BATHURST

The point raised in the question is being carefully considered with a view to taking any measures that may be practicable to deal with it.
