HC Deb 12 February 1917 vol 90 cc297-8W
Mr. NEEDHAM

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the time now taken in the finishing of cotton goods for export; and, in view of the importance of this export trade, whether he will take steps to give facilities so that export cotton goods may be manufactured and put through the finishing processes quickly in order that the finished goods may be exported without undue delay?

Mr. G. ROBERTS

I am fully aware of the importance of maintaining the export trade in cotton goods and I will certainly see that full consideration is given to the proposals to which my hon. Friend alludes for securing this end so far as bleached and dyed goods are concerned.
