HC Deb 12 February 1917 vol 90 c298W
Mr. PETO

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Shipping Controller what progress has been made relative to the proposals which have been made for standardisation in the building of new merchant vessels; and whether, in respect to this matter, due regard will be paid to suitable accommodation being provided for the officers and crews of these ships?

Sir L. CHIOZZA MONEY

With regard to the first part of the question, it is not possible for me to add anything to the answer on this subject which I gave to the hon. Member for Tottenham on Thursday last. As to the latter part of the question, the specification of these standard ships, of course, includes suitable accommodation for a proper complement of officers and men.
