HC Deb 24 April 1917 vol 92 c2237W
Colonel BURN

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact that many thousands of dogs are turned adrift in London and in the provinces each year, causing expense to the country and suffering to such dogs, he will consider the advisability of arranging that the tax on dogs should become operative at an earlier age than six months, as suggested by the National Canine Defence League?

Mr. BONAR LAW

This proposal, along with all other relevant suggestions, is receiving consideration in connection with the Budget statement.
