§ Mr. BYRNEasked the Home Secretary what the Government proposals are in reference to the licensed trade in Ireland; if the Government intend to purchase 8,000 licensed houses; if they will be acquired compulsorily or by voluntary arrangement; on what basis compensation will be paid; if the owners desiring to do so will be allowed to retain their houses; if those disemployed as a result of the restrictions will be compensated; or if the restrictions will be withdrawn or modified?
§ Sir G. CAVEI have no statement to make on this subject at present except that no withdrawal or relaxation of the restrictions on the output of intoxicating liquor can be anticipated.
