Mr. HOUSTON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he proposes to introduce coloured labour into this country to replace the men drawn from the ranks of labour into the Army; and, if so, under what conditions, wages, or rates of pay these coloured men are to be employed; and whether they will be under military control and discipline?

The question of the introduction of unskilled coloured labour into this country from other parts of the Empire is under the consideration of His Majesty's Government.
