§ Mr. JOWETTasked whether each day served by a conscientious objector under 607W the Home Office scheme counts as the equivalent of a day's service in prison so far as the sentence is concerned; whether the conscientious objectors at Ercoll have completed their sentences; and what steps do the Home Office propose to take with regard to these men?
Mr. SAMUELThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The sentences of all the men now employed at Ercall have expired; but if the men do not remain in the employment of the Committee, or if they commit any serious breach of the Committee's regulations, they are liable to be recalled to the Army.
