HC Deb 02 November 1916 vol 86 cc1854-5W
Mr. BUTCHER

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider the desirability of bringing Territorial battalions who have been in India for twelve months and upwards back to serve either in France or in England; and whether he can give any assurance that all Territorial battalions which may be in India at the conclusion of the War shall be brought back to this country as soon as may be?

Mr. FORSTER

I regret that I am not able to give any undertakings as to the future dispositions of the troops; but it may be taken for granted that Territorial troops serving in India will have every consideration given to their claim for early demobilisation.
