HC Deb 14 March 1916 vol 80 c1924W

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that in the Sterling Telephone awl Electric Company, Limited, London, £36,200 of shares are held by residents in Germany; and whether he can state what policy the Board of Trade will adopt to confine the expenditure of public money to home manufacturers?

I am aware that £36,200 of the capital of the Sterling Telephone and Electric Company, Limited, is held by residents in Germany. The application of the provisions of the Trading With the Enemy (Amendment) Act, 1916, to this company will be considered in due course.
