§ Mr. BUTCHERasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he is aware that compensation for the loss of invalided officers' uniform and equipment, such as sword, revolver, glasses, bedding, and the like, is only granted by the Government in cases where the invalided officer has been certified to be fit for further service; and whether he will consider the claim for similar compensation for officers who have lost their uniform and equipment in the course of service in the field through no fault of their own, and who have been disabled by wounds or sickness from further service?
§ Mr. FORSTERIndemnification for loss of kit is given for the purpose of enabling an officer to re-equip himself for further service. I fear I can hold out no hope of alteration in this rule.
