§ Mr. FORSTERNo, Sir; the ration allowance remains at 1s. 9d. for those to whom the Department is not prepared to issue rations. But officers who for their own convenience do not wish to draw the ration in kind may draw the contract value of the ration in lieu, and this value is 1s. 5d.
