§ Mr. HOBHOUSEThe Committee referred to was forced to abandon the programme of tests of apparatus shortly after their inception, the outbreak of War making it necessary for the staff selected for the purpose to undertake military and
other more urgent work. The Committee hope, however, to issue a Report on general lines in the course of the summer.
