HC Deb 12 May 1915 vol 71 c1672W
Mr. NEEDHAM

asked the Postmaster-General whether the Committee appointed by him on the 30th of January, 1914, to inquire into systems of high-speed telegraphy has completed its tests of apparatus; under what conditions such tests were carried out; and whether the Committee is now able to issue a Report?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

The Committee referred to was forced to abandon the programme of tests of apparatus shortly after their inception, the outbreak of War making it necessary for the staff selected for the purpose to undertake military and

other more urgent work. The Committee hope, however, to issue a Report on general lines in the course of the summer.
