asked the Secretary for Scotland what has been the sum granted to the Secondary Education Committee of the county of Wigtown for secondary education annually during the past three years?

The total sum allocated to the Secondary Education Committee for the county of Wigtown during each of the last three years was as follows:—

In terms of Section 17 of the Education (Scotland) Act, 1908, some part of the Committee's funds may be applied to purposes other than secondary education.
