HC Deb 30 July 1914 vol 65 c1594W
Mr. HORNER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, under the new pension scheme for Irish national teachers, those model school teachers who, under the scheme existing prior to 1897, had continued to pay contributions to ensure supplementary pensions, will have their rights to those supplementary pensions maintained as heretofore as distinct from the ordinary pensions to which they may become entitled under the new scheme.

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

As indicated in reference to the actuaries and in their Report (Cd. 7205), it is proposed that, if in any case an existing teacher would be entitled to greater benefits under the old scheme, such benefits will be reserved to him under the new rules.
