§ Mr. PATRICK O'BRIENasked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether the Board have adopted any view, opinion or attitude as to whether Subsection (2) of Section 49 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1894, providing that every Order of the Board is to take effect as if enacted in that Act, does or does not 66W make valid even any such Orders as, but for such provision, would be void as unauthorised by the terms of that or any Statute; if so, whether such view is that such provision does validate to the extent mentioned or the contrary; and, if not, whether, having regard to the importance of having a definite official construction of the said provision arrived at, he will refer the said question to the British and Irish Law Officers for their opinions?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANI have no reason to doubt the validity of any Order which has been made by the Board, and no occasion has arisen for consulting the Law Officers on the hypothetical question suggested by my hon. Friend.
