§ Mr. SHEEHANasked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland) whether he has received any representations from the South of Ireland Cattle Trade Association to the effect that the concessions announced by him are practically useless, as there is no sailing to Deptford, no regular sailing to Cardiff, and Bristol is principally for store cattle trade; whether, in the circumstances, he can immediately secure that Glasgow, Fishguard, and Birkenhead shall be open for the slaughter of fat stock, and that all other unnecessary restrictions will be removed?
§ Mr. T. W. RUSSELLThe answer is in the affirmative. Probably the hon. Member, when he placed his question on the Paper, was not aware of the recrudescence of the disease in county Tipperary, a fact which affects the whole situation, and until further inquiries have been made I cannot say anything definite on the subject.
