HC Deb 23 February 1914 vol 58 cc1434-5W
Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Postmaster-General how many members of the engineering grade, including the electrical staff, transferred from the National Telephone Company have resigned from the postal service since the 1st January, 1912?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

Out of a total of approximately 6,500 members of the engineering staff, including the electrical staff, transferred from the National Telephone Company, about 446 have resigned since the 1st January, 1912. The number given includes 125 resignations from the unskilled staff, which is necessarily, more or less, a transient force.
