asked the Under-Secretary of State for India the number of bales of cotton grown in India in the years 1907–8, 1909–10, and 1911–12, respectively, and the number of bales exported, in each of these years, to countries other than the United Kingdom?


The estimated yield in bales of the Indian cotton crop for the years mentioned was as follows:—

1907–8 3,122,000
1909–10 4,718,000
1911–12 3,288,000

The exports to countries other than the United Kingdom were:—
