§ Mr. FREDERICK WHYTEasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has received any representations from Scotland suggesting the appointment of two or more Advisory Committees for Labour Exchanges in Scotland; and, if so, whether he has considered the advisability of adopting the proposal?
Mr. BUXTONRepresentations have been received from various associations of workpeople in the East of Scotland. These representations have been carefully considered, but the Board of Trade are not at present prepared to adopt the proposal. I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply 69W given to my hon. Friend the Member for East Edinburgh on 6th August, of which I am sending him a copy.

Mr. BUXTONThree meetings of the committee have been held during the past year, all of them at Glasgow. I understand, however, that the next meeting is to be held at Edinburgh.
