HC Deb 28 October 1912 vol 43 c69W
Mr. W. THORNE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is prepared to make representations to the Port of London Authority to enforce compliance with the Fair-Wages Clause in their contract with Messrs. Pearson and Son by paying all the labourers engaged on the contract the recognised rate of 7d. per hour?

Mr. BUXTON

This is not a matter over which the Board of Trade have any control, and any representations should be made direct to the Port Authority.
