§ Mr. CHARLES BATHURSTasked the President of the Board of Education whether his attention has been called to 847W a meeting on Monday last of the council of the National Education Association, at which a resolution was passed to the effect that the present condition of educational finance is a danger to progress, creates a serious deficiency of school accommodation and injures efficiency, and that educational reforms which are urgently needed should not be delayed by discussions as to the basis of rating and taxation; and whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?
§ Mr. J. A. PEASEThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The Government are at present considering the subject matters referred to, and I cannot yet say what action may be taken.
