The number of passengers stated to be of Scottish nationality who left ports in the United Kingdom for places out of Europe, and the number of such passengers who arrived in the United Kingdom from places out of Europe, during the year 191], was as follows:—

Scottish passengers to places out of Europe 88,858
Scottish passengers from places out of Europe 27,500
Excess of Scottish passengers outward 61,358

These figures are exclusive of passengers travelling between the United Kingdom and places out of Europe viâ Continental ports. They are as stated in the Return Cd. 5526-XI., and are subject to revision in the Annual Report on Emigration and Immigration now in course of preparation.
