HC Deb 04 March 1912 vol 35 cc153-4W

asked the Secretary to the Treasury, with reference to the statement of the promoted Civil Service writers in the Statistical Department of His Majesty's Customs and Excise, which was presented to the Treasury through the late Financial Secretary in December last, showing the various reasons why the other half of their unestablished service should count for pension purposes, and also in reference to a letter addressed to the late Financial Secretary in January last, asking to be informed as to what progress had been made in regard to that statement, seeing that the Superannuation Act, 1887, invests the Treasury with full powers to grant the other half the unestablished service, and that it has been granted in full to the Customs boatmen, whether the Treasury will state what has been done in the matter; and, if not, whether the matter will be further considered?

I am unable to add anything to the previous answers given to questions on this subject, terminating with that given to the hon. Member on the 26th ultimo.
