HC Deb 04 March 1912 vol 35 c154W
Sir JOHN LONSDALE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that a number of ex-national teachers in Ireland, who were obliged to retire through ill-health and who, in many instances, have been obliged through the insufficiency of the allowance to commute their pensions, are now in a state of destitution; if he can make any statement as to the increased provisions to be made for the pensions of Irish national teachers; and if the new rules will provide that an invalided teacher becoming convalescent may seek re-employment under the National Board?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I will refer the hon. Member to the reply given to a similar question by the hon. Member for South Fermanagh last Monday.
