HC Deb 20 June 1912 vol 39 c1999W
Mr. MONTAGUE BARLOW

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can state how many societies, whether house purchase societies, friendly societies, co-operative societies, or building societies are engaged in the work of assisting the industrial classes to acquire their own dwellings by making advances to cover the whole or a portion of the purchase price; how much money has been advanced by the various societies to working-class occupants of houses for this purpose; and how many houses have been acquired within the last ten years and are now being acquired by this method?

Mr. ROBERTSON

The information for which the hon. Member asks is not contained in the Returns made by the various classes of societies, and I regret, therefore, that I am unable to furnish it.
