§ Mr. McKENNAThe cost of administration at the Admiralty for the year 1909–10 was £4,079 10s., or somewhat less than 3 per cent. of the actual expenditure on pensions—£137,488 15s. 11d. The payment of pensions to officers is authorised by the Greenwich Hospital Act of 1865 (Act 28 and 29 Vict., c. 89), and of pensions to widows by the Greenwich Hospital Act of 1883 (46 and 47 Vict., c. 32).
