Mr. HARCOURTThere is a considerable difference of opinion as to the damage caused to settlers in the East Africa Protectorate by big game. I am in communication with the Governor on the subject, and am not at present in a position to say whether it is necessary to remove or modify the restrictions to which my hon. Friend refers. The maintenance of the balance of nature is a difficult problem in East Africa as elsewhere.
